3D-atelier.be is a custom 3D printing studio offering on-demand additive manufacturing services, including but not limited to FDM technologies, as well as custom design services upon request.

All references to “3D-atelier.be,” “we,” “us,” or “our” in these Terms refer to the operating entity behind this website. Our contact details are provided at the bottom of this page and on our Contact page.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between 3D-Atelier and any individual or entity (“Client,” “you,” “your”) who uses this website or engages our services.

2. SCOPE OF SERVICES

3D-atelier.be provides the following services:

– Print-to-order: Printing of 3D models supplied by the Client in accepted file formats.
– Custom design & print: Design and creation of models by 3D-atelier.be based on Client briefs, followed by printing.
– Finishing & post-processing: Optional sanding, painting, assembly, or other finishing treatments as quoted.

We reserve the right to refuse any order at our sole discretion, including orders we deem technically unfeasible, legally problematic, or contrary to these Terms.

3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Designs Created by 3D-atelier.be

All original 3D models, designs, and creative works conceived and created by 3D-atelier.be remain the exclusive intellectual property of 3D-atelier.be, unless a separate written agreement explicitly transfers ownership to the Client.

Upon full payment, the Client receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the physical printed object(s) for personal or commercial purposes as agreed. The underlying digital file remains property of 3D-atelier.be unless otherwise negotiated in writing.

Reproduction, redistribution, resale, or modification of 3D-atelier.be’s original designs without prior written consent is strictly prohibited.

Files Supplied by the Client

When the Client supplies their own 3D files for printing, the Client retains ownership of their original design files. By submitting a file, the Client grants 3D-atelier.be a limited licence to use that file solely for the purpose of fulfilling the requested order.

IMPORTANT β€” Client Responsibility for Copyright:
By submitting a file to 3D-atelier.be, the Client warrants and represents that they are the rightful owner of that file or hold all necessary licences, rights, and permissions to have it commercially reproduced. 3D-atelier.be is not in a position to verify the commercial licence status of every submitted design file. We do not systematically screen files against third-party intellectual property databases. If a submitted file is protected by copyright, trademark, or any other intellectual property right belonging to a third party, the full legal and financial responsibility lies entirely with the Client. 3D-atelier.be shall bear no liability whatsoever for any infringement arising from files supplied by the Client.

The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless 3D-atelier.be from any claims, damages, costs, and legal fees arising from IP infringement related to Client-supplied files.

4. FILES & DESIGN RESPONSIBILITY

Accepted File Formats

We accept the following 3D file formats: .STL, .OBJ, .3MF, .STEP, .STP, .F3D. Files in other formats may be accepted at our discretion. Files must be print-ready and properly scaled.

File Quality & Printability

The Client is solely responsible for ensuring that submitted files are:

– Free from mesh errors, non-manifold geometry, or corrupted data.
– Properly oriented, scaled, and dimensioned.
– Suitable for the requested printing technology and material.
– Designed with appropriate wall thicknesses and structural integrity for the intended use.

3D-atelier.be will carry out a basic visual printability check before production. If obvious errors are detected, we will notify the Client. However, this check is not exhaustive, and it remains the Client’s responsibility to provide a print-ready file. We are not liable for print failures or unsatisfactory results caused by design flaws in Client-submitted files.

Minor File Adjustments

We reserve the right to make minor technical adjustments to files (such as repair of small mesh errors or scaling corrections) as necessary for printing. Any substantial modifications will be communicated and may be quoted separately.

Tip: We recommend verifying your file with a mesh repair tool (e.g. Meshmixer, Netfabb, or PrusaSlicer) before submission to avoid delays or unexpected results.

5. TOLERANCES & TECHNICAL EXPECTATIONS

3D printing is an additive manufacturing process with inherent physical and technical limitations. By placing an order, the Client acknowledges and accepts the following:

Dimensional Tolerances

Typical dimensional tolerances vary by technology:

– FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling): Β± 0.2 – 0.5 mm depending on geometry and material.
– as an example : resin (SLA/MSLA): Β± 0.1 – 0.2 mm.

Tolerances may vary based on part complexity, size, and material behaviour. These figures are indicative and not guaranteed for all geometries.

Surface Finish

Layer lines, support marks, and minor surface texture are inherent characteristics of 3D-printed objects and are not considered defects unless post-processing was explicitly quoted and agreed.

Colour & Material Variation

Filament and resin colours may vary slightly between batches. We do not guarantee exact colour matching unless a specific material lot is agreed in advance. Some materials (particularly flexible or wood-fill composites) may exhibit natural variation in appearance.

Functional Parts

3D-atelier.be does not certify any printed part as suitable for load-bearing, medical, food-contact, electrical, or other safety-critical applications unless an explicit written certification has been agreed. The Client assumes all risk for functional and structural applications.

6. SAFETY & LIABILITY

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 3D-atelier.be’s total liability to the Client in respect of any order shall not exceed the amount paid for that specific order. We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of profit, data, or business opportunity.

Intended Use

The Client is solely responsible for determining that a printed part is appropriate and safe for its intended use. 3D-atelier.be provides no warranty, express or implied, as to the fitness of any printed item for a particular purpose, unless explicitly stated in writing.

Safety-Critical Applications

3D-Atelier expressly disclaims any liability for injury, damage, or loss arising from the use of printed parts in safety-critical contexts, including but not limited to: medical devices, prosthetics, food-grade containers, structural elements, vehicle components, electrical enclosures under load, or any application involving pressure, heat, or chemical exposure beyond the material’s rated specifications.

Children & Vulnerable Users

Certain printed items may contain small parts or sharp edges. The Client is responsible for assessing suitability for use around children or vulnerable individuals. 3D-atelier.be accepts no liability in this regard.

7. PROHIBITED ITEMS

3D-atelier.be will refuse to print any item that falls within the following categories. Submission of such a request may result in permanent refusal of service and, where applicable, reporting to relevant authorities.

– Weapons & weapon components: Firearms, firearm components (including frames, receivers, and magazines), knives beyond legal limits, or any item whose primary purpose is to cause bodily harm.
– Items that circumvent legal restrictions: Parts designed to convert legal items into illegal configurations (e.g. auto-sears, suppressors).
– Counterfeit goods: Replicas of branded products intended to deceive consumers or infringe trademarks.
– Sexually explicit content: Obscene items, items sexualising minors, or items prohibited under applicable obscenity laws.
– Hazardous items: Objects specifically designed to cause harm, intimidation, or harassment.
– Items violating third-party IP: Unlicensed reproductions of protected characters, logos, or designs (responsibility for which, if submitted by the Client, falls on the Client).
– Any item illegal under Belgian or European Union law.

We reserve the right to expand this list at any time. Any payment received for a refused order will be refunded.

8. QUOTES & PRICING

Quotes

All prices are provided as quotes following review of the Client’s file or brief. A quote is valid for 14 calendar days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated. After this period, re-quoting may be necessary due to material or operational cost changes.

Quotes are based on the file, specifications, and quantities submitted at the time of request. Any change to the design, material, quantity, or deadline after a quote is issued may require a revised quote.

Pricing Factors

Pricing is calculated based on, but not limited to: print volume, material cost, print time, complexity of post-processing, and applicable setup fees. Shipping and packaging costs are quoted separately unless stated otherwise.

VAT & Taxes

All prices are quoted excluding VAT unless explicitly stated otherwise. Applicable Belgian VAT will be added to the final invoice.

Pricing Changes

Published indicative prices on our website are subject to change without notice and do not constitute a binding offer. The binding price is the one confirmed in writing in an accepted quote.

9. PAYMENT

Payment Terms

For new Clients and orders under €500, full payment is required in advance before production begins. For orders over €500 or for established Clients, a 50% deposit is required to commence production, with the remaining balance due before shipment or collection.

Accepted Payment Methods

We accept bank transfer (IBAN) and other methods as agreed at the time of order. Payment is deemed received upon cleared funds.

Late Payment

In the event of late payment, 3D-atelier.be reserves the right to suspend or withhold delivery until the account is settled. Interest on overdue invoices may be charged in accordance with legislation.

Order Confirmation

Production begins only after receipt of the agreed deposit or full payment and written order confirmation. Verbal or informal confirmations do not constitute a binding order.

10. RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS

Custom-made goods are exempt from standard right-of-withdrawal rules. In accordance with Article VI.53 of the Belgian Code of Economic Law, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to goods that are clearly personalised or custom-made to the Consumer’s specifications.

When Returns Are Accepted

Because every item is produced to order, we do not accept returns or offer refunds except in the following circumstances:

– Manufacturing defect: A print failure or defect caused by 3D-atelier.be (not by the Client’s file) that renders the item unusable. The Client must notify us within 5 business days of delivery with photographic evidence.
– Wrong item shipped: An item materially different from what was ordered and confirmed.
– Non-delivery: Item not received within the agreed delivery window through no fault of the Client.

In accepted cases, we will at our option: reprint the item, issue a credit note, or provide a refund. We do not cover return shipping costs unless the error is ours.

Returns Not Accepted

We do not accept returns or issue refunds for:

– Dissatisfaction with results caused by Client-submitted file errors or design choices.
– Dimensional or colour variation within stated tolerances.
– Change of mind after production has commenced.
– Items damaged by the Client after delivery.

Cancellations

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. If production has not yet begun, a full refund of the deposit will be issued. If production has commenced, the deposit is non-refundable to cover material and labour costs. If an order is fully completed, no refund is applicable.
