The original black part features vulnerable blade mounts. When replacing blades, rust often develops on the screws which creates a huge problem when the blades need to be replaced. With the slightest amount of force, the screw breaks off, or the plastic connection cracks. The result: the entire part is useless, you have to order an expensive new replacement, and you are stuck with long wait times.
Our new orange design is printed in robust, UV-resistant PETG material. However, the real improvement is in the design: we have included twice as many blade mounts. Even if one connection breaks in the future, you still have enough spare mounts to keep using the disc!
